BLEND:

90% Cabernet Sauvignon – 10% Merlot

TASTING NOTES:

The wine has a deep garnet red hue. The wine is clear and brilliant.

The initial nose reveals an aromatic bouquet strongly reminiscent of Cabernet Sauvignon, with varietal notes of blackcurrant bud and spices. After swirling, the wine evolves to red fruit aromas (sour cherries, blackberry).

The attack is fresh and chiseled. The mid-palate is dense and offers a velvety texture with supple tannins. The finish is marked by red fruits with notes of eucalyptus that prolong the tasting experience.

2024: a Vintage Full of Surprises...

One of the distinctive features of this 2024 vintage lies in the length of its cycle, as it began with a very early bud break for Merlots on March 18 and Cabernet Sauvignons on March 26.

After a warm and dry start to April that boosted the vines, May and June were particularly rainy with low sunshine, which led to a slowdown in vine development.

With the sustained presence of these humid conditions, historically high mildew pressure was observed in the vineyard. As a result, the frequency of phytosanitary treatments was very tight, and viticultural practices were particularly meticulous for this 2024 vintage (leaf removal on both sides, significant suckering, etc.).

Flowering started late on May 28 for Merlots and June 5 for Cabernet Sauvignons and lasted about ten days. In July, cool and humid conditions contributed to maintaining the high mildew pressure. Veraison, which stretched from August 5 to August 30, confirmed the prediction of a late vintage for 2024.

September was also marked by significant rainfall, impacting the sugar concentration in the grapes. Despite this, the sanitary condition remained good and allowed for beautiful phenolic ripeness with good tannin quality and very fruity, varietal aromatics. The 2024 harvest, exceptionally late compared to previous vintages, ultimately took place under "good conditions."
